In his letter to The Columbian on Oct. 9, 2006, George Young praised Gregg Herrington’s September 29 column “CVTV needs balance in news policy”. I, too, praise Mr. Herrington for bringing out the need for fairness in the coverage that CVTV does for the public.
However, Mr. Young overlooked Herrington’s words “Commissioner Stuart wanted to let CVTV televise the event; Morris and Boldt nixed it.” Young came to the conclusion that electing Bruce Hagensen was needed. Hagensen is not running against Commissioners Morris or Boldt who not only nixed coverage of Friends of Clark County’s Growth Forum but has also refused to let CVTV cover the upcoming Forum on I-933 where a balanced panel of four people will cover each side of the issue.
Commissioner Steve Stuart argued strongly in favor of allowing Clark County viewers to have access to each Forum. He has focused his time as a Commissioner by listening and outreaching to the citizens and working on policies to help maintain a good quality of life. I will vote for Steve Stuart because I know he works hard and does a good job as Commissioner.
