Residents should have voice in annexations

Some things we just plain take for granted, like having a voice in our future, having a choice about where we live (inside incorporated or unincorporated areas), or like being able to voice our opposition to annexation by assumption into a utilities district. We just think we should be able to choose these things. These are assumed options-- unless we live in Clark County.
Since it appears that we may not always have those assumed choices, I am supporting the candidate for Clark County Commissioner who has pledged to support my position on annexation. Sitting Commissioner Steve Stuart has long demonstrated his willingness to stand up for his constituency on this issue. He believes, as I do, that if the City of Vancouver wants to annex my neighborhood, they should ask--and I should have a voice and a choice in the matter.
