Workers rights are an important part of the American Dream. It's easy to charge cheap prices to consumers when you avoid paying your fair share of wages and benefits to your employees.
Citizens in Clark County deserve a living wage with benefits. They should be allowed to unionize if they wish and should not be intimidated into conceding basic labor rights.
As a longshoreman and Clark, Skamania and west Klickitat labor council president, I am thankful that County Commissioners Steve Stuart, Betty Sue Morris and Marc Boldt are standing up for the workers in Clark County.
